Weekly Wrap Up!

Last week was a busy one for us. The herd had VBS from 5:30-8:30 every night. They even took toddlers (score!) so I had some much needed free time. Every Tuesday Harmony and/or Ian have play therapy with someone from Easter Seals Blake Foundation. Every week Terri comes in to hang out with us brings an age appropriate project for the kids that helps work on their goals. This week it was Harmony's turn and she got to go around the house seeing what would stick to her paper. As you can see he was super proud.
(Clockwise from top left: Hamony's play therapy project, 3 of the 4 at VBS, a super cool bridge here in Yuma, the herd enjoying the waterslide on the first day of summer, and Ian's "cooking" with the cat food.)

I put up the waterslide for the first day of summer and the kids loved it. Unfortunately it ended up with a huge rip so it can't be played with again until I fix it. It has lasted 3 very hot summers so I am not super surprised that it happened.

The last picture on the college is what I walk into at least once a day. Ian loves mixing the water with the cat food. At least this time he put the food in the water instead of the other way around.

And finally here is what I made this week
(Clockwise from top left: rag wreath for a friend, 5 minute burlap wreath for myself, vinyl quote for my bathtub, set of hurts for a friend to announce her pregnancy, string art from the craft class, and decal with a towel hanger for the kids bathroom)

I hope your week was as great as mine!

Hi.

I know I am supposed to say how I can't believe that it has been so many months since I have post but honestly I can. Life got crazy and I couldn't keep up with it all so I just stopped doing everything. I stopped blogging, closed down my online shop, stopped taking local sign orders, and stopped going to play dates. I literally stopped doing any of the things that I enjoyed. I even uninstalled the Blogger and Pinterest app from my phone.

I can't say that it won't happen again but this time I am keeping it in perspective. I know I don't HAVE to make something daily, or write a blog post, or even go on FB if I don't want to.

I'll leave you tonight with this quote...

(Days 8,9,10} Catch Up

...just a reminder. I am linking up with The Nester for her 31 Days challenge. If you would like to start at the beginning you can read THIS post here.

Sorry for the delay in posting. I woke up on Tuesday not feeling well and then my vinyl machine broke so I could not do any of the projects that I had planned. I had a very important order that was due at 5 pm on Tuesday and I had to let them know that I could not make the deadline. This was really difficult for me to take because it was for a customer who had just come back to me from using a competitor. I was determined that they would find no fault with my work. After dealing with that all of my drive went out the window and I stayed up until 1:30am watching the last 3 weeks worth of episodes of Dads, Mom, and The Big Bang Theory on On Demand.

Wednesday was a much more productive day. I got my machine working and was able to complete the banner. YAY!
This is a customer provided photo on the banner up. I am in LOVE with those pumpkins. It is a 2 sided banner which is why you can see wording peeking through the back.

I do have a couple of things that I want your opinions on.
Ignore the horrible lighting in both of these pictures I just took them (at 8:15pm) with my phone. In this first one I can't decide if I want to leave that "Family" picture sign up or move it. I hung it there originally to take product photos. What are your thoughts?

This is as close as I get to having a mantel in my house. This wall is the first thing you see when you walk in my front door. I added those giant burlap flowers to the wreath and can't decide if I want to add a banner going across. It would have to be removable since the wreath is staying up year round. I also need to figure out what to put in the empty scrapbook page holder.

{Day 7} Worn Out

...just a reminder. I am linking up with The Nester for her 31 Days challenge. If you would like to start at the beginning you can read THIS post here.

I am writing this blog from my phone because as the title says I am worn out.  I had a tooth filled this morning and due to its location my sinus cavity went numb as well. It probably wouldnt have bothered me so much if I didn't already have a sinus infection.  I am going to bed without really completing any extra projects today and I am ok with that.

I will update the look of this post tomorrow.  Tomorrow's post promises to be much more interesting.

{Day 6} Kids crafts, Signs, and Laundry

...just a reminder. I am linking up with The Nester for her 31 Days challenge. If you would like to start at the beginning you can read THIS post here.

Before I get into what I completed today I just had to share these pictures of Katrina and Jack. When they saw me working they asked if they could make something of their own. Actually, they were just completing projects that they needed to do.
Working hard. I love that both of them have their eyes closed.

Jack is so proud of his pumpkin. It is actually weekend homework for his Kinder class.

Katrina made this for Gary's office.

And know for what I have done...

I actually made this sign for an online auction and didn't like how it turned out, so I kept it for Jack's room. The original version had longer pieces of ribbon between the letters. I like it much better now and Jack loves it!

I posted this sign on Instagram last week and finally finished it today. I had to add the wire to the back and take product photos. I did both and have the listing ready to go live after I finish this blog. Gary is thrilled that I finally hung up pictures.

For this sign I have had the wood painted for almost a month and just didn't know what I wanted on it. It is currently hanging in my laundry room as I test out the construction of it. I purposely made the letters super distressed but haven't decided if I am going to keep them that way when I list it on Etsy.

As the post title says, laundry was included in the day's activity. I didn't get it done but I have made a dent in it. I am having a Lia Sophia party here this weekend so it will have to get done.

{Day 5} Quality Time

...just a reminder. I am linking up with The Nester for her 31 Days challenge. If you would like to start at the beginning you can read THIS post here.

As I have said before I have a whole list of things that I want to get completed. Something that is always on my list that often gets pushed aside is quality time with my kids. Since school has started and my work has picked up we have not been able to spend enough time together. Today I went to my friend's Lia Sophia party and as I was walking out the door I told Katrina to put on her shoes and come with me. It was time for some much needed time together.

After a quick stop for something to drink we headed to Allison's. Katrina enjoyed looking and trying on all of the different pieces and pointing out which ones I should buy. She also had fun playing with some of the other kids while I enjoyed the adult time. We ended up staying for almost 6 hours (!)

While it may not seem like a big deal to some, it was a huge deal to her. She got her favorite drink, playtime, and some alone time with Mom. Both of us will be going to bed tonight with smiles on our faces. As my children get older I realize more and more that of all the projects I want to do nothing is more important than making sure that when they look back on their lives they feel like their childhood was complete.

{Day 4} Conference Packets

...just a reminder. I am linking up with The Nester for her 31 Days challenge. If you would like to start at the beginning you can read THIS post here.

Tomorrow starts my church's twice yearly general conference. Since there are 2 sessions on Saturday and Sunday I needed something to keep the kids (and me!) interested in the talks. Being able to watch it live from the comfort of our home is awesome it has it's downsides. It is so much easier to be reverent and pay attention when you within the walls of a church building. Luckily, we have a wonderful resource in Sugardoodle. While browsing around there a few days ago I saw some great conference packets for both kids and adults.
This is the packet that I printed for Katrina and Jack. It is geared towards kids ages 5 and up. The creator suggested printing it on cardstock but since my kids have never actually watched conference (we are converts), I didn't want to waste the cardstock if they weren't going to do them. I have some plain clipboards from the Dollar Store that I put them on and then used some washi tape liven them up.
This is the one that I chose for myself. It is also on a clipboard for easy access and note taking.

I am very pleased that I completed this task. I have high hopes that the kids and I will get a lot out of the talks.
